There has been much news going around the iphone 4 antenna problems and there have been calls already for apple to actually recall their popular mobile device. This could potentially create a huge dent in Apple's reputation as one of the top mobile device provider, it could also be costing the compnay huge amounts of money, some estimate even up to $1.5 billion dollars. This amounts up to 3.5% of the companies value. An easier option for Apple, woudl be to actually issue a rubber bumper case, which will prevent the antenna from being blocked, and hence preventing the probelm. Apple is currently charging $24 for these rubber cases, but even so, it will definitely be cheaper than the iphone 4 recall even if they were to give these out for free. Investors are somewhat concerned about this as they seem to see a similar pattern in previous lines of apple product. As many know, technology companies can never release a product that has no bugs, but a certain level of quality assurance is always expected on the consumer's side.
